Dick Tracy

There is a series of Dick Tracy postcards from World War II where every card has lines in Dick Tracy’s speech balloon to be filled in. The soldier who sent this Dick Tracy card was also named Dick, but instead of being a detective, he was in the 91st Naval Construction Battalion. “Soldiers made those footprints, Pat! This one by Dick shows he weights 128 lbs, his favorite service dish is none, and he’s enjoying your few letters.” I like how he said he has no favorite service dishes!
