The Mayflower Hotel

There’s at least 5 Mayflower Hotels that are/have been in America. But the Mayflower Hotel in Atlantic City is today’s focus! It was located between Tennessee Avenue and St. James place. The description on the back of the card couldn’t be any more vague: “The Mayflower is but one example of Atlantic City’s finest hotels. It boasts of many features for the comfort of its guests.” Sounds just like every other hotel ever built.

The two highlights of the Mayflower Hotel are that it served as a temporary campus for Stockton College in 1971 when the new college buildings weren’t ready for admissions.

Also, Penthouse publisher Bob Guccione owned the vacant site of the old Mayflower Hotel, but had to sell it in 2001 due to financial troubles.
