With final exams fast approaching, this postcard message from a student at the University of Chicago is very relatable:
“The first day of exams is over and I think I did quite well- but I know my grades won’t compare with last summers. We have to write all day to-morrow on different questions in the same subject as we did to-day. I’m going to take swimming and tennis along with my regular work next term. I must go eat and cram for the test. Have seen Lucille (can’t read last name). O.J. (?) has been sick- skipped a day- but made up by two. Love, Gretchen (?)”
I purchased this card at the Lancaster Postcard Show on Friday. It was sent on July 27, 1922.
