At the Fair Postcard Message- Admiral Byrd’s Ship

One of the exhibits at the 1933 World’s Fair was Admiral Byrd’s Polar Ship, called “The City of New York.” It was used to go to the South Pole from 1928-1930. The ship had actual crew members from the expedition at the exhibit. The sender of this card in July of 1933 wrote:

“Dear Dad: I saw Byrd’s ship a few days ago and it was most interesting. I certainly hope that you and Mother can come to the fair. Lots of love “Puss””

This is an actual photograph I have of Admiral Byrd’s ship at the fair. I got it in a lot of photographs taken by a boy scout at the fair.
