Alfred Holzman

A postcard of a postcard factory! This card features the factory of the Alfred Holzman Company in Chicago, the largest building in America devoted exclusively to the manufacture of postcards.

Besides scenes of Chicago, Holzman also manufactured holiday cards, and I actually have a very neat hold to light called winter & summer. The scene changes to summer once held up to the light.

When searching for more information on Alfred Holzman on Google books, there were a lot of hits. One of the results was an ad in the help wanted section of The World to-day Volume 10, saying: “Salesman- to sell my large line of Advertising Fans and Souvenir Post Cards; side line or exclusive, good commission, prompt settlement. Alfred Holzman, 340 Dearborn St., Chicago, Ill.”
